Mystery plant: Pear tree

There was this creepy giant tree in the side garden behind the loquat tree, and we never knew what it was. I had to climb up a 6ft pile of dirt and sort of launch myself at a low hanging bought, but I was able to snag this. Looks like a pear! I had to cut it open to confirm, and sure enough it smelled like pear and had seed oriented like a pear. Nifty times.
