Curly leaf and pit fruit

The peach tree is sadly suffering from leaf curl. From what I could find online, it is a fungal disease you can treat by topical sulfur or copper fungicides. The tree currently has fruit, so we will treat it in the fall and spring. The tree drops the crappy curled leaves and tries to grow more, but the poor thing can exhaust itself in the race to ripen fruit AND regrow whole boughs worth of leaves. Another thing to do to help the tree would be to heavily prune back the fruit specifically so the tree doesn't go nuts trying to grow all this stuff.
