We had to hit several Home Depots but eventually we found blood meal and bone meal in stock! Blood meal is a product from slaughterhouses, and is more like an acute shot of nitrogen for plants. It lowers the pH as well, particularly if you mix it is instead of diluting it and watering with it. Things like tomatoes and corn like it, but it can scald young plants.

Bone meal is a source of calcium and phosphorous, and doesn't work at high pHs. It can be added to water and used that way or mixed into soil if granular instead of dusted.
