So I heard, on the street, that you can just sort of make plants root without rooting powder but taking a clipping and shoving it in water. You have to minimize the leaves on the little cutting so that the plant can support the water needs without roots, but still leave enough leaf for the plant not to die. Our basil was looking kind of trashy so I decided to nab a clipping and see if I can get it to root in water.
