Day 4 (planted Day 0) and the corn is off to the races! This dude popped up so swift it popped the lid on the Burpee, what a champ.

These guys were a dessicated kernel we planted 1 inch down. We plan to place 2-3 into a large bucket. To develop kernels on the cob you need pollen falling on the silks of the corn ears while growing, otherwise you end up with a weird little naked cob. I fancy myself a farmer now but I also feel that we will be corncob harvesting noobs this season.

These guys appreciate fertilizing with blood meal or compost.
